Dear Students, Parents, Guardians and Visitors of our School Community,

On behalf of Colonel Irvine (CI) School Staff, we would like to extend a warm welcome to each and everyone one of you to our school website. At CI, we are home to the Roadrunners. We have the following programs: Grade 5-9 Mandarin Bilingual Program, Grade 7-9 Regular Program, and Grade 7-9 Bridges.

We are committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student is valued, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential. Our dedicated team of staff regardless of titles or roles work together to foster a love for learning, cultivate critical thinking skills, and instill the values of integrity, empathy, and resilience in our students. Our goal is to guide our students toward success both in and out of the classroom. This aligns with Calgary Board of Education’s mission that each student in keeping with their individual abilities and gifts, will complete high school with a foundation of learning necessary to thrive in life, work and continued learning.

With close to 800 students, we have a diverse group of learners. We work with students, parents, staff, community partners, and our school resource officer to best support the learning needs of all students. Students at CI have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of options, such as, art, construction, applied tech, foods, fashion, outdoor education, training for excellence in sports, band, and leadership. We feature many unique clubs, such as, board game club, student council, principal-student advisory, Spanish club, book folding club, construction club, art club, jazz band, and debate. We also have dedicated coaches supporting a variety of team sports for our students and athletes.

Parents and guardians, your partnership and involvement are invaluable in ensuring the success of our students and we encourage you to actively participate in your child’s educational journey with us. Together we will continue to build and foster a strong, inclusive learning community here at CI.

I am honored to lead this learning community dedicated to excellence in education, personal growth, and community engagement. I look forward to working alongside each of you to make this school year memorable and successful for everyone.
