Good afternoon, Colonel Irvine School Community,
下午好! 学文学校社区,
We had a very busy last week of school with activities and ceremonies for our students. The grade 9 students had their Farewell celebration. We were also able to recognize many student achievements at our awards ceremonies and had lots of fun on our sport day. Thank you to former students and parents that volunteered to make these events happen and to the teachers that worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make these events successful.
Preliminary PAT results were also sent home in envelopes with Grade 6 and 9 students today. If your student was away, these will be mailed out. Also, please remember to print and save a digital copy of your child’s homework. Report cards are usually needed if you are thinking of transferring out of the Calgary Board of Education.
We will be in touch again by email in late August as we welcome your students back for another year of learning and fun. At that point we will provide more details about the first few days. For those of you who have students moving onto high school or transferring to a different school, we wish your student(s) and yourselves all the best as you embark on a new journey.
We would like to thank our parent community for providing us with a fabulous lunch and gift cards for all staff members today. We appreciate the generosity of our parents and feel so fortunate to have such wonderful partners in helping all of the students to be successful.
Lastly, I would also like to thank Mr. Jayme McDonald for being here during Mr. Ferguson’s absence. He has made a valuable contribution to our school community. Both students and staff will miss him and wish him well.
The school office will open on Monday, August 24th if you need assistance before school starts. I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable summer and look forward to connecting and working with you again in September.
Take good care everyone,
Ms. Ko

Library books
All library books check-out by students are due now. If library books are not returned, a replacement value to cover the cost of the book will be added to the students account and parents can pay in their parent PowerSchool account.
Bussing Registration – Ongoing
Please know that you may still register for bussing on your MyCBE parent account. The early June deadline was to make sure they had student information for designing the bus routes, and the sooner you register the more likely your student will be on the bus list for the first day of school. Waiting to register for bussing once school starts up again could mean that you are without bussing for several weeks next year while all the new applications are processed.
