Good afternoon, Colonel Irvine School Community,
下午好! 学文学校社区
Today, teachers worked in their curricular groups to look at lesson plans and common assessments for our students. With 3 months left of the school year, they are ensuring that all outcomes will be covered before the end of June.
Our grade 6 students had a great time attending the YMCA outdoor school. They had a fabulous time at the camp. Again, like the previous years, many students commented on how much fun they had and raved about the good food. We’d like to extend special thanks to our parent volunteers, and our teachers, Ms. Lee, Ms. Sampson, and Mr. Prather, for attending camp with our students. We value your time and commitment to our school community. Special thanks to Ms. Lee for organizing the trip for our students.
Congratulations to both our junior and senior boys’ volleyball team for winning their final match against Queen Elizabeth School on Tuesday. It was a fabulous way to end the season. Thank you to all our athletes and coaches for another awesome volleyball season. We also want to thank our students, family fans and guests who cheered us on throughout our season. We have an amazing school community.
Thank you to all that supported our Flames hockey tickets raffle fundraising. We raised $130 and the winner is Nadia C. We would like to thank Jamal Denny of Kaco Systems for generously donating the Flames Tickets. All proceeds will go to the Calgary Children’s Hospital (CCH). We also raised $520 from our school dance and that will also be donated to CCH.
New options will begin after the break. Due to current class sizes, we will not be making changes to option classes. We are back in school on Monday, March 30th, and this is the start of trimester 3. Students will receive their new timetable on Monday.
Lastly, it is hard to believe that Spring Break is upon us. We hope families will get to spend some quality time together over the break. We want this to be a break for students too and so teachers did not assign any new work or assignments over the break. We want our students to be able to relax and enjoy the week off.
Finally, we’d like to wish our families that celebrate Eid, a very happy time with your loved ones. May your Eid be full of love, laughter and light.
Thank you for your continued support.
Ms. Ko and Mr. McDonald

School Council
Vote! We need your voice!
Hello Colonel Irvine School, parents & guardians,
Did you know that parents have the opportunity to shape the future of Alberta's public education system? Every year, parents can propose that school councils put forward advocacy resolutions that are presented at the Alberta School Councils' Association (ASCA) annual general meeting in the spring.
At our next school council meeting on April 14th, we will discuss this year’s Advocacy Resolutions and decide whether to support these policies. Then, one of our parent representatives will attend the ASCA AGM and vote along with other school council representatives. Resolutions that receive majority support from the voting members become statements, or directions for action, and form official advocacy positions of ASCA.
Please join us. Your voice matters. Your vote matters.

Parking
We kindly ask parents and guardians to please refrain from parking or entering the FFCA Elementary School parking lot. Keeping this area clear helps ensure that staff are able to access the school safely and efficiently.
We also ask families to avoid parking in the bus pick‑up and drop‑off zone at dismissal. This area, located directly in front of the school, is reserved for school buses to support safe and orderly student departure.
We truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation and thank you for helping us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all members of our school community.
