The Week Ahead - January 15

Good afternoon Colonel Irvine School Community,

We hope the winter break was good for our students and families. This is our first message of the new year and it’s been a cold week. We’ve been having indoor lunches for the past couple of days. Unfortunately, our wrestling meet was cancelled due to the cold weather conditions. Volleyball tryouts started this week and team selections will be completed by next week. Thank you to all students who came out. It was great to see the amount of interest in the sport. It is so positive to see so many students wanting to be involved in school activities.

Please mark on your calendars for our lunar new year celebration. It’ll be on February 7th. There will be 2 performances starting at 5:45 pm with our grades 5/6 classes performing and at 7:15 pm for our grades 7-9 classes performing. More information will follow next week.

For grade 9 parents, please see the updated high school message below about designations.

As always, thank you for your continued support.

Ms. Ko & Ms. Dalwood

Please include the student’s first name and spell the last name along with the reason for absence.

Updated - High School:

High school designations have been confirmed and we have posted a list up on the high school bulletin board at the school. This is the best way for students to figure out their designated high school for next year. We are waiting to distribute high school course selection sheets until report cards are viewable on January 30th. Report card marks will help to inform your decisions for course selections for next year. We will have another online meeting for parents/guardians once sheets are handed out. At this point it looks like high school transfers (available for exceptional cases only) will open February 1 and close March 15. We will answer questions about transfers in that meeting too. A reminder that transfers are not first come first serve, they just must be in by March 15th.
