Good afternoon, Colonel Irvine School Community,
下午好! 学文学校社区,
June is upon us and it will be a busy month. We had our Grade 6 Part 2 for ELA yesterday. Grade 6 and 9 students will have more PAT’s in the next 2 weeks.
The last day for all students to submit assignments is Friday, June 12th. Work handed in after this date will not be included in the report card. All library books were to be returned to the learning commons today. Please remind your child to bring back any overdue books.
Today, we held a school life assembly to celebrate and recognize all the clubs that we have at our school. A big shout out to Ms. Lee and her grade 9 leadership students for planning the celebration. They did a fantastic job showcasing our students and clubs.
Kudos to all our parent volunteers who went with our grades 5 and 6 students to the Mayor’s Expo. Special thanks to Ms. Zhang for organizing the field trip. The students had a great time.
June is an exciting month for Indigenous ways of being, belonging, doing, and knowing:
- June 1-30: National Indigenous History Month in Canada
- June 15 -21: Indigenous Awareness Week in Calgary
- June 21: National Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada
As a school, we will be engaging students in land-based learning on Friday, June 19. We will also have an array of activities planned for students.
Lastly, we have a number of items in our lost and found. They are currently displayed on tables in the hallway. If items are not picked up by June 22nd, they will be donated.
As always, thank you for your continued support. We are proud to be a part of Colonel Irvine School learning community.
Ms. Ko & Mr. McDonald

Transportation Registration Has Started 2026-2027
Families are now able to apply for yellow school bus service for the 2026-27 school year. Service levels and fees are outlined below. Registration is available through your MyCBE account. (If you do not already have an account, learn how.)
Families must apply by Sunday, June 14, 2026, for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year. We continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 14 deadline will be delayed. It may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus.
Service levels will remain the same as the current school year with a fee of $500/year per student.
Important Transportation Update – Kincora & Country Hills
With the new school designations affecting students in Kincora and Country Hills who are in regular program, there are important changes to transportation services:
- Students who choose to remain at Colonel Irvine School instead of attending their newly designated school will qualify for busing as a conditional rider for the next school year.
- Please note that the transportation registration portal for conditional riders will open on June 14.
We encourage families to plan ahead and review these changes carefully when making school and transportation decisions.
Confirmed routes will be posted in MyCBE in August.
Lunchroom
Monday – Sweet and Sour Chicken on Rice
Tuesday – Assorted Pizzas
Wednesday – Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
Thursday – Chicken Fried Rice/Ham and Hashbrown Casserole
Athletics
Track & Field: Practices will go from 3:15 - 4 pm.
The Divisional Track & Field Meet is on Tuesday, June 10th at the Foothills Athletic Park. Students can be dropped off at Foothills, just earlier than 8:30 am. Students can be picked up any time after their last competing event, and parents will need to let one of the supervisors know when they are taking their child. There is a bus but the bus back from the athletic park WILL NOT be back to school on time for the school buses.
