Good afternoon, Colonel Irvine School Community,

下午好! 学文学校社区,

Last night was our annual Spring Concert at Colonel Irvine School. It was a harmonious evening. It was the first concert for our grade 5 and 6 students and the second for our grade 7-9 band students.  The students sang and played some fabulous pieces. Their hard work in preparing for the concert was evident. As mentioned at the concert, if your child wants to join the band next year and they have not selected it as their option, please contact Ms. Roberts in the main office.

Special kudos to Ms. Hammond efforts in making the concert a success and for our staff for supporting rehearsals during the day. We would also like to give gratitude to our band council members for all their support for the band program.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to each member of the current parent council executive members for their dedication, leadership and time. The collective effort of the executive has helped to shape and build a strong school community. At our council meeting on Tuesday night, it was shared that all positions will be vacant for next year’s council.

We encourage all parents to consider joining the school council. Together, we can continue to make a difference. Your involvement can make a significant impact on the educational journey of our children and help shape the future of our school community and society. Key positions must be filled for the School Council to stay operational. We would be in danger of losing our casino if key positions are not filled.

If you have the desire to serve and make a positive impact, we encourage you to consider joining the School council. Please reach out to the current council members for guidance or information on how you can get involved. Please see below.

Happy Eid to all the families that celebrate Eid al-Adha. Have a great weekend and thank you for your continued support.

Ms. Ko & Mr. McDonald

Transportation Registration Has Started 2026-2027

Families are now able to apply for yellow school bus service for the 2026-27 school year. Service levels and fees are outlined below. Registration is available through your MyCBE account. (If you do not already have an account, learn how.)

Families must apply by Sunday, June 14, 2026, for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year. We continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 14 deadline will be delayed. It may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus.

Service levels will remain the same as the current school year with a fee of $500/year per student.

Important Transportation Update – Kincora & Country Hills

With the new school designations affecting students in Kincora and Country Hills who are in regular program, there are important changes to transportation services:

  • Students who choose to remain at Colonel Irvine School instead of attending their newly designated school will qualify for busing as a conditional rider for the next school year.
  • Please note that the transportation registration portal for conditional riders will open on June 14.

We encourage families to plan ahead and review these changes carefully when making school and transportation decisions.

Confirmed routes will be posted in MyCBE in August.
