Good Afternoon Colonel Irvine School Community,

下午好! 学文学校社区,

This week is the last week of classes for trimester one options. Students will get new timetables with their trimester two options on Monday, December 9.

This week, our grade 9 leadership students along with STUCO help raised over $600 during the “Beat the Teachers” basketball games for the Terry Fox Foundation. We are working hard to reach our goal of $4000 for the foundation.

Next week we will continue to build our sense of school community by hosting a Pep Rally on Friday, December 13! Teachers have stepped up to provide laughs and entertainment for students with activities like eating mystery foods, fitness challenges, and more!

Here’s how students can get involved:

  • Pay $1 in the office to enter their name into a draw.
  • Selected winners will join in exciting challenges during the rally—including the chance to pie a teacher in the face!

Every dollar raised will go directly to support the Terry Fox Fundraiser.

Just a reminder that we can only accept small bills in the cafeteria. Please do not send large bills as we have difficulty making change and may need to turn away students with large bills.

We would like to confirm that our Lunar New Year evening celebration will be Thursday, January 23. We will send out more details in January.

Thank you for your continued support.

Ms. Ko and Ms. Dalwood

Holiday Appreciation Lunch for Teachers and School Staff

Colonel Irvine Parent Advisory Association (CIPAA) would like to support the school administration for all the amazing work they do by organizing a holiday appreciation lunch on December 13 for all the teachers and staff. Based on last year's holiday appreciation lunch, we anticipate that the cost will be approximately $20 per attendee and the school has confirmed that there are 55 staff members. We therefore estimate the cost to be approximately $1100.

The decision was made at the November School Council/CIPPA meeting to fund this event from the General Account. However, please note that in lieu of gifts of appreciation for the school staff, this year we will be accepting donations to use towards this appreciation lunch.  If you would like to, or are able to participate, cash or cheques can be dropped off at the front office.  Please be sure to indicate the funds are for the HOLIDAY APPRECIATION LUNCH. Ideally, this money would be sent in prior to the lunch.

Any additional funds raised less the expenses for the lunch will be donated to the purchase of food hampers to support school families during this holiday season.

We give a heart-felt thank you to the parent community and amazing team of educators and staff and wish you all a very happy holiday season!

Colonel Irvine School Casino Fundraiser 2025

Hi, all!  We're pleased to announce that we've now opened up the sign-up to volunteers for our upcoming Colonel Irvine School Casino which will be held on January 11 & 12, 2025 (a Saturday and Sunday).

We need your support! This fundraiser has been a crucial event that helps us raise over $50,000 annually. These funds are vital for purchasing equipment and resources that benefit both our students and teachers, enhancing the overall educational experience.

Your participation is essential to the success of this event. Volunteering is a fun and fantastic way to connect with other volunteers and make a direct impact on our school community. Even a few hours of your time can make a significant difference.
