It is nice to see and feel our weather warming up. Students are expected to be outside during lunch. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately. 

We would like to remind students and parents that behaviour on the school buses will be addressed by the school. Bus drivers send reports to the school. Riding the bus is a privilege and misbehavior on the bus can result in bus suspensions. One of the biggest issues is students standing up while the bus is in motion. Please remind your students, if they ride the bus, that they need to be seated at all times so that they are not a distraction to the driver. 

This week you will get your weekly message from teachers and it will cover the next two weeks. This is because next week is a three day school week. Teachers are engaged in professional learning on Thursday and Friday. We will send out regular weekly update next week. 

Yearbook sales have been extended until February 22. See information below. 

A reminder for grade 9 students/parents that the high school transferprocess opens on February 10. For regular programs you will only be able to transfer to schools that have space and which if a school is not listed they are not accepting transfers. 

Congratulations to the Senior Boys team for placing 1^st at North Trial’s first Invitational tournament.  Our Senior girls placed 2^nd. Thank to all the athletes and coaches for spending their Friday night at North Trail.

Athletics 

As volleyball games start CBE middle schools have set similar expectations for games that promote safety, respect, and a positive experience for all. They include:  

• All visiting student spectators/athletes must be under the direct supervision of a designated adult for the duration of the games.  

• Student spectators without parental supervision will be directed by the hosting school administration to leave the building.  

• All spectators - students or adults - are expected to cheer and support players/coaches/referees/parents/guardians in a positive manner.  

• Disrespectful behaviours will be addressed by school administration promptly and may result in spectators being directed to leave the game and the school building.  

• Parents/guardians who bring younger children are always responsible for their direct supervision. Please ensure that they are not wandering the halls and playing on stage or with any equipment.  

These expectations have been reviewed by all our students in school. Please review with your student(s) as well. We thank you in advance for your ongoing support. 

Wrestling season has come to an end. A big thank you to Mr. Chang, Ms. Dhaliwal, and Ms. Le for volunteering their time and efforts to coach the team! 

Yoga afterschool: There is yoga offered by Ms. Smith, afterschool on the following dates:

Yearbook Orders 

The deadline to order a yearbook is February 22! This is an opportunity to preserve their memories of the school year.  The cost is $37 and students will receive it in June on the last day of school.  

The path to order online in your Parent MyCBE PowerSchool website is:
