Good afternoon, Colonel Irvine School Community,
下午好! 学文学校社区,
We can’t believe that we are entering the last week of February. On Monday, we went over school rules and expectations with all our students. We talked about having respect for oneself, others and the environment and what that looks like and what disrespectful behavior might look like. We also stressed that it is important to report harmful behaviors to an adult, whether that is a teacher, staff member or parent. Reporting is protecting oneself and others. We need to work together to ensure a safe and caring school community.
Just a reminder that report cards will be viewable on Tuesday, February 24th in your myCBE account. These are no longer printed, so please print or save a copy if you need one. This will be important if you are applying to go to a different school board. More details on how to access them are below. Teachers will be sending out emails to all parents and guardians regarding interviews. Booking for interviews will be open on Tuesday, February 24th @ 8:00 am.
We will be selling raffle tickets to the March 26th Flames games vs the Anaheim Ducks. One ticket for $5 or 3 tickets for $10. All proceeds will go to the Alberta’s Children’s hospital. This is the charity that our students want to fundraise for. This is the final week to purchase a New York Fries for a Month card. For $20, cardholders receive one free regular-sized fries each month. Each purchase contributes $15 directly toward supporting school events, making this a great way for students to treat themselves and support our school community.
We are looking for two parent volunteers to help with Grade 9 and Homeroom Photos on February 26th starting at 8:30 am. If you are interested, please email Christa Roberts at cjroberts@cbe.ab.ca.
Course selection sheets for high school for our Grade 9 students are due back to the homeroom teachers as soon as possible. Even if students have applied for a transfer, they must return the form for their designated high school. Students attending Churchill will need to submit their online request by February 27th.
Lastly, next Wednesday is Anti-bully day. Please encourage your child to wear a pink t-shirt or anything pink.
Thank you for your continued support in building and fostering a strong school community.
Ms. Ko & Mr. Ferguson
