 Firstly, we’d like to thank Ms. Michelle Lou for her time with us at Colonel Irvine. She will be moving to another school starting next week. We will miss her at our school and wish her well as she transitions to her new location. Please direct any questions you may have to our external email - colonelirvine@cbe.ab.ca.  Please do not send any emails to Michelle Lou starting Monday. We will keep you posted once we have our new administrative secretary. 

Thank you to all the students who came to try out for our volleyball teams. We have 4 teams representing our school and our first set of games will start on January 26^th, 2026. We appreciate all the teachers who are volunteering their time to coach our athletes.

On a more serious note, we want to remind families that any form of fighting is not permitted at school, including what students may describe as “play” fighting with friends. We ask that you please review this expectation with your child. We have been made aware of several incidents this week, including video recordings, and are continuing to investigate. Appropriate follow-up and consequences will be applied in accordance with CBE Administrative Regulation 6005 (Student Code of Conduct) and Administrative Regulation 6006 (Progressive Discipline). We will also involve our School Resource Officer as needed. We want to ensure that all students feel safe at school.

Grade 9 End of Year Outdoor School Trip (Optional)  

Instead of West Coast Sailing this year, we are offering Outdoor School for 40 of our grade 9s from May 19 – 22. This trip is offered to 40 grade 9 students, and if we have more than 40 who are interested, we will do a lottery to keep it fair. The price is not set but is estimated to be in the $500s. Transportation, meals, and Camp counselors/ teacher supervisors are provided during this trip. We will finalize the list by January 31st.
