Good afternoon, Colonel Irvine School community.

下午好! 学文学校社区,

Report cards are available for viewing on Monday. Details on how to access are below. If your student has an individual program plan these will be sent home by mid-February.

On Wednesday we had our final practice lockdown of the school year. Students were notified in advance. We have three more fire drills to complete before the end of the school year still.

Congratulations to both Senior Boys and Girls volleyball team for placing first at the Ernest Morrow Tournament last weekend. Good luck to both senior teams as they will be competing in a tournament at North Trail High School today.

Thank you to our wrestling athletes and coaches: Mr. David Chang, Ms. Ruby Dhaliwal and Ms. Jenny Le for a great season. Our wrestlers wrapped up their season with the final divisional meet at the Genesis Centre on Wednesday.  Well done to all athletes and coaches.

Next week, is also the start of February, which is Black History Month. During this month our Humanities classes are taking a closer look at the significance of why representation matters through film studies. Films not only capture the stories and experiences of different individuals and communities, but they also have the power to shape our perceptions, challenge stereotypes, and promote empathy. By exploring diverse narratives and perspectives, we can expand our understanding of the world and foster a more inclusive society. Through film studies, we will critically analyze how representation influences our perceptions and explore the importance of amplifying marginalized voices.

Lastly, Happy Year of the Snake for all the families celebrating Lunar New Year. Wishing everyone good health, prosperity and happiness.

Thank you for helping to build a strong school community. Have a great weekend everyone.

Ms. Ko & Ms. Dalwood
