Good afternoon, Colonel Irvine School Community,
下午好! 学文学校社区,
This week we had our spring band concert at John G Diefenbaker High School. It was such a treat to hear our students perform. Kudos to our talented musicians and Ms. Fenwick and Mr. Haller for wonderful night of entertainment, A special thanks to our band council members for supporting our band program this year.
Many of our students were out for the track meet on Wednesday. Thanks to all our coaches that helped them practice and prepare for this day and to the parents that volunteered to attend the meet.
Grade 9 Farewell times have been confirmed. Parents/guardians are encouraged to attend. Homerooms 9ABC will have their ceremony from 8:30-9:45am and Homerooms 9DEFG will be from 10:30-11:45am. Both are on June 25. Doors will open 10 minutes beforehand. More details will come in a message closer to the date and as we finalize more details.
Grade 7’s and 8’s each have field trips next week. We hope they enjoy their time out of the building.
As always, thank you for your continued support. We are proud to be a part of Colonel Irvine School learning community.
Ms. Ko & Ms. Dalwood
Year End Staff Appreciation Lunch for Teachers and School Staff
Colonel Irvine Parent Advisory Association (CIPAA) would like to support the school administration for all the amazing work they do by organizing our Year End Staff appreciation lunch for all the teachers and staff. Based on last year's holiday lunch, we anticipate that the cost will be approximately $20 per attendee and the school has confirmed that there are 55 staff members. We therefore estimate the cost to be approximately $1300.
The decision was made at the June School Council/CIPPA meeting to fund this event from the General Account. However, please note that in lieu of any gifts of appreciation for your child's individual teacher(s) or school staff, we will be accepting donations to use towards this appreciation lunch. If you would like to, and are able to participate, you can contribute through one of the 3 following options:
1. Email Transfers to colonelirvineschoolcouncil@gmail.com, password 'LUNCH"
2. Cash to front office
3. Cheque Payable to - COLONEL IRVINE PARENT ADVISORY ASSOCIATION
Please do so by June 21 so we can plan accordingly.
Any additional funds raised less the expenses for the lunch will go towards a gift card for each teacher/staff member. We want to extend a heart-felt thank you to the parent community and amazing team of educators and staff and wish you all a happy summer holiday!
Sincerely,
Colonel Irvine School Council & Parent Advisory Association
