Good afternoon, Colonel Irvine School Community,
下午好! 学文学校社区,
With the smoke advisories on Tuesday, our Track and Field meet was cut short. This is unfortunate for everyone involved, but the safety of students and staff comes first. We are glad that many athletes had a chance to compete and we are so proud of all the athletes who trained so diligently to be prepared for the meet.
When Air Quality is high, we always give students the option of staying indoors at lunch, and we also keep our Physical Education classes. Thank you for your understanding.
We are planning next Friday to take all students up to Nose Hill Park as part of a walking trip for National Indigenous Peoples Day.
On a different note, we are asking parents/guardians to remind their student(s) not to bring any water guns to school. We will be collecting these if they are out in the school. Water bottles should also be used for drinking and not squirting others. If this happens, we will also collect water bottles. Students will still have access to the water fountains during class change. These items will be returned at the end of the year.
Lastly, we’d like to share that Mr. Warren Ferguson will join us as our new assistant principal in September. He is very excited to learn and join our school community. He will send out a letter of introduction in the fall.
As always, thank you for your continued support.
Ms. Ko & Ms. Dalwood

Opportunity: Year-End Staff Appreciation
Colonel Irvine Parent Advisory Association (CIPAA) would like to support the school administration for all the amazing work they do by organizing our Year End Staff appreciation lunch for all the teachers and staff on June 20.
We are asking parents/guardians who would usually get gifts for the teachers to instead consider making a donation towards this appreciation lunch. If you would like to, and are able to participate, you can contribute through one of the 3 following options:
1. Email Transfers to colonelirvineschoolcouncil@gmail.com, password 'LUNCH"
2. Cash to front office, please send in an envelope marked Staff lunch
3. Cheque Payable to - COLONEL IRVINE PARENT ADVISORY ASSOCIATION
Please do so by June 18 so we can plan accordingly.
Any additional funds raised less the expenses for the lunch will go towards a gift card for each teacher/staff member. We want to extend a heart-felt thank you to the parent community and amazing team of educators and staff and wish you all a happy summer holiday!

If you can volunteer, please send Ms. Yeo an email at yoyeo@cbe.ab.ca on which event (or both) you are available for. It would be great if you have already volunteered for the school as we will have your records, but if you have not, we will have to go through the process of getting you on board.
