Good afternoon, Colonel Irvine School Community,

下午好! 学文学校社区,

We are entering the last month of the school year. We will be having conversations with all students about finishing the school year on a positive note. As always, we have high expectations for our students. We have a few activities planned both on campus and off campus for the end of the year for all students. It is a privilege to participate in these activities. Students may lose this privilege if they do not conduct themselves accordingly. If we cannot trust their behaviour in class or while at school, they may not be invited to these off-campus activities. Please have a chat with your child(ren) about this.

We would like to remind parents/guardians about the school dress code. In particular, hats/hoods are not permitted to be worn in school. We appreciate your support in this matter. Also, water guns are not permitted at the school. We will confiscate any water guns found at the school.

We will host two band concerts on Tuesday, June 4th at John G Diefenbaker High School. This will be our final concert of the school year for our students. Both students and staff are excited to hear the performances. Parents/Guardians may use the staff and student parking lot at Diefenbaker that evening.

Have a great weekend and thank you for your continued support. Together we achieve more.

Ms. Ko & Ms. Dalwood

Grade 9 Farewell information - June 25 Farewell Ceremonies

The theme for the ceremony this year will be “Starry Night,” this was voted on by the Grade 9 classes. Please find below TENTATIVE timing and information for the ceremonies. We will continue to share more details as the planning progresses.

8:45am – 9A, 9B, 9C

10:15am – 9D, 9E, 9F, 9G

As part of the grade 9 Farewell celebrations, we would like to include pictures of the grade 9's as toddlers/young babies. If you have these available, please encourage students to submit the picture to the Phys. Ed D2L shell in the assignment called Grade 9 Baby Pictures. Please ensure the file is named (FirstnameLastnameHR). Pictures are due by May 24.

We would like the Farewell to be a special occasion, and therefore ask students, if possible, to dress-up for the day. This will mean different things for different students. However, costumes are not appropriate. Please do not go out of your way to spend lots of money for this ceremony. Save that for high school graduation.

Please also be aware that due to fire capacity each student can only have 3-4 guests, we will finalize this soon.

Library Books

All library books are due back on June 12th.

Transportation Registration Has Started

Families are now able to register for school bus service for the 2024-25 school year. Service levels and proposed fees will remain the same as the current school year.

  • Registration is available using your MyCBE account. (If you do not already have an account, click here to learn how to create one.)
  • Families must register by Sunday, June 16 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.
  • We continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.
  • Note: Conditional ridership forms will be available after the registration deadline.

Have a great weekend.
