Winter Break - December 23 - January 7
Good Afternoon Colonel Irvine School Community.
It's also hard to believe that it’s Winter Break. We had a fun spirited last week of school. It was great to see the student participation in our Spirit/Theme days. Some of the “Dress like a Teacher” outfits were fantastic! We also finished off our collections for the Food Bank. We’d like to thank you all for your generosity. As this calendar year draws to a close, we’d like to share some of the highlights:
September and October:
· Terry Fox Run - successful fundraising campaign – Raised over $3000
· Successful seasons for our basketball, cross-country and soccer teams
· Principal Student Advisory Committee and Student Council started up
November:
· Remembrance Day Ceremony
· Veterans Food Bank Drive
· Virtual and in-person parent/teacher/student conferences
· Book Fair - we raised over $1300 for our Learning Commons!
· Wrestling season begins
December:
· Annual Mayor’s Food Drive
· Winter Band Concert
· Spirit Week
Still looking for a last-minute gift? Yearbooks are now available for purchase and will arrive in June. See details below.
As we look forward to the Winter Break, we want to express our gratitude to the Colonel Irvine School Community. We continue to appreciate the efforts, support and guidance of our students, staff and families. On behalf of the staff at Colonel Irvine School, we want to express heartfelt best wishes to all of you. If you have been celebrating Hanukkah or the Winter Solstice or will be celebrating Christmas, Kwanzaa or the ringing in of 2024, we hope you will have a chance to gather with family and friends this holiday season.
